Getting enlightened is as much about unlearning as it is about learning. Yet unlearning is harder than learning, at least for most people. The things you learned first are – to you – right. Everything else that comes along and disagrees with it is wrong. Even when the new information is proven to be correct, you hang onto your old patterns. Even when it is proven to be painful, you hang on. And hang on.
