A lot of the yogic texts talk about Transcending ego. But what is ego? How can you transcend it if you don’t know what it is?
The purpose of transcending ego is to find a greater quality of being. A more expanded, inner sense of beingness. The place you look for that, according to the yogic sages, is inside. So anytime you are looking outside to find a sense of, a quality of beingness, any time you’re looking outside to find a sense of self worth, a sense of value or meaning, you’re not looking inside.
