I love Christmas carols but, as a yogi, I hear different lines than when I was growing up. “Silent night, holy night, all is calm, all is bright…” — yes, we want all to be calm and all to be bright. This song and others are pointing to the inner light of a babe whose birth is remembered now. How great that so many look to the light shining through such a great being as Jesus. It means they can conceive of light being incarnate, as shining through a human form. The unique thing about yoga is that yoga says YOU are light incarnate, that Divine light shines through your human form…
