Every person on earth wants to be happy. From morning til night, you’re pursuing this elusive thing – happiness. The founding document of the USA, the Declaration of Independence, declares that every human being has God-given, inalienable rights: the right to life, to liberty and to the pursuit of happiness. Notice that it does not say you have a right to happiness itself – only to the pursuit of happiness. So you pursue… and pursue… and pursue happiness by looking outside of you. But happiness only happens when you stop pursuing. Every time your mind stops, you experience bliss, the bliss of your own Beingness, as described in the Yoga Sutras…
