The purpose of transcending ego is to find a greater quality of being. A more expanded, inner sense of beingness. The place you look for that, according to the yogic sages, is inside. So anytime you are looking outside to find a sense of, a quality of beingness, any time you’re looking outside to find a sense of self worth, a sense of value or meaning, you’re not looking inside.
